Wieland is hiring a Production Planner. The Production Planner will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of our establishment according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, and production problems. This role is located in Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.

Base Salary Range: $66,500- $75,800 per year.

 

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Production Planner Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage production plans based on customer demand, forecasts, capacity, and lead times.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, customer service, and sales teams to align schedules with priorities.
  • Manage finite capacity planning to optimize labor, equipment, and machine utilization.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans to address changes in demand or production constraints.
  • Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
  • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Ability to interact well with internal customers.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Technical Ability: Ability to understand technical drawings/specifications and relate them to appropriate supplier or in-house manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

Production Planner Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment or related field (or bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering)
  • Strong understanding of production planning and/or Master Scheduling experience
  • Proficiency in Machine Capacity Analysis and S&OP Process
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS power BI) and SAP (Required)
