Job Purpose
The Associate HR Business Partner (based in Houston, TX) - Field Support Center will support the strategic focus of the Human Resources team and ensure delivery of HR objectives through a developing knowledge of human resource generalist issues, as well as company policies and procedures. The individual in this role will utilize excellent problem solving, communication, and people skills to participate in effective employee relations with team members at various levels of the organization. The Associate HR Business Partner will work closely with the other functional HR teams to provide employee support and will perform HR-related administrative tasks. In addition to supporting the Field Support Center team, this individual will also work in partnership with the field HR team on various initiatives, projects, and requests. The Associate HR Business Partner will work closely with the HR leadership team to support strategic initiatives and overall team goals.
What you will do...
  • Provide general support of HR activities in employee relations, compensation, payroll, benefits, staffing, and training
  • Administer weekly orientation sessions for new hires at the Field Support Center, and coordinate orientation activities for remote employees of FSC-based teams
  • Support the onboarding process for FSC and field managers, to include assistance with questions and issues related to the onboarding system, guidance for I-9 completion, and I-9 compliance tracking
  • Provide insight and response to general employee questions and concerns
  • Generate and process employee agreements, including non-compete agreements, retention agreements, and separation agreements
  • Support managers with employee issues, performance discussions, and progressive discipline, to include participation in terminations
  • Process employee transactions in a timely manner by following internal department procedures
  • Act as an employee advocate to communicate ideas to improve strategy to leadership
  • Assist with development and deployment of HR strategies, programs, and initiatives
  • Demonstrate active participation in Herc Rentals Safety Culture, always prioritizing the safety of team members and customers alike
  • Administer employee programs, including the Employee Referral Bonus Program and Tuition Reimbursement Program
  • Assist managers and Talent Acquisition in the hiring process, to include requesting requisitions, providing job data, and occasional participation in recruiting events
  • Advise managers and employees on HR-related policies and research when necessary
