Assistant Program Director - Vocational Nursing (VN) Program

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Program Director for our Vocational Nursing (VN) Program. This key leadership role works in close collaboration with the Campus Program Director to ensure excellence in nursing education, regulatory compliance, and student success. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for developing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Program Director in planning, developing, managing, and evaluating all aspects of the Vocational Nursing Program
  • Prepare comprehensive data and written materials for state board reports, accreditation proposals, self-studies, and site visits
  • Identify and secure external resources, grants, and partnerships to enhance the nursing program
  • Assess and evaluate clinical agencies for suitability and ensure all Facility Approval Applications are completed prior to clinical rotations
  • Monitor and ensure timely completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by nursing faculty
  • Maintain and organize evaluations from students, clinical sites, and faculty following each clinical rotation
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and drive continuous improvement of program quality and instructional delivery
  • Coordinate clinical assignments, rotation matrices, and academic calendars to ensure on-time completion
  • Monitor faculty compliance with clinical rotation policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
  • Review and update student learning materials on an ongoing basis to reflect current best practices
  • Ensure student records are properly maintained in accordance with institutional and regulatory policies
  • Submit required program reports, documentation, and forms to the Program Director in a timely manner
  • Stay current with emerging healthcare technologies, safety regulations, and nursing education standards
  • Provide academic advising and program planning support to prospective and current students
  • Ensure students meet all graduation requirements and are prepared for state licensing examinations (NCLEX-PN)
  • Teach theory or clinical nursing courses approximately 50% of the time
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program excellence
Required Qualifications
  • Valid, current, and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the position is located
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
  • At least 1 year of experience in nursing education, clinical instruction, or clinical supervision in an approved nursing program within the last 5 years (OR 3 years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last 5 years)
  • Completed coursework in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and educational administration from an accredited institution
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technologies
  • Knowledge of state board of nursing regulations and accreditation standards
Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 USD
