As a child care center assistant director, your job is to help supervise a daycare or preschool facility and watch over children on behalf of their parents. In this role, you may help teach kids how to play games, provide early childhood education, and otherwise ensure a safe and healthy environment. As an assistant director, you work under the direction of the senior director to accomplish various daily tasks, including managing paperwork, creating reports for parents, collecting payment, and providing customer service. Assistant directors often supervise other staff members and help to ensure the childcare center's compliance with both corporate and legal regulations.
