The responsibilities of an assistant product manager include conducting market and competitor review and research, completing client research, forecasting trends, and determining customer problems and potential ways to solve them. In this career, you provide support to the product manager and management team, help identify new market opportunities, define a roadmap to obtaining new customers, help with strategy development for these new markets, and help plan the budget. Other duties include writing up documents for market and product requirements and reporting on marketing promotions and performance indicators to help track goals and increase sales revenue. You are also responsible for monitoring inventory, assisting the sales team with product questions, and working with vendors to find out product lead time and availability.
