Responsibilities
Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking an individual to join our team as an Assistant Product Manager supporting our Commercial Auto line of business.
In this role, you will work directly with the line of business leader to support the development, documentation, and updates to product and portfolio strategies. You will use data and industry experience to inform decisions while assisting with key business initiatives.
What You'll Do
  • Support the line of business leader and team members by providing analysis and recommendations related to product strategy, including underwriting guidelines, appetite, rating approaches, and product enhancements
  • Work with cross-functional partners-including Distribution, Actuarial, Product Development, Data & Analytics, and Technology-to develop and implement system and process improvements that meet business needs
  • Assist in monitoring newly implemented strategies by reviewing performance using established metrics
  • Conduct portfolio analysis with guidance from the line leader, focusing on key performance indicators and trends
  • Work with training and marketing teams to create materials supporting new or updated products
  • Research competitor activity and market trends to support product decisions
  • Maintain documentation and version control for underwriting guidelines, product updates, and changes
  • Support compliance efforts by maintaining awareness of state-specific regulations and assisting with responses to Department of Insurance inquiries
  • Assist in evaluating and supporting distribution strategies across multiple channels, including direct-to-consumer and retail agency models

Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, or Actuarial Science
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management within the insurance industry; underwriting experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly
  • Working knowledge of industry trends, regulatory environments, and compliance processes
  • Ability to work across teams and maintain working relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage work independently and analyze complex problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • SQL skills preferred but not required

Salary Range
$80,000-$140,000.00 USD + bonus
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good-faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including:
New York, NY; Parsippany; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes-Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA.
