A Product Manager Intern assists the product management team in researching, developing, and improving products. Their responsibilities often include gathering user feedback, analyzing data, helping define product requirements, and collaborating with engineering, design, and marketing teams. They help ensure that the product aligns with business goals and user needs while learning the fundamentals of product lifecycle management. This internship provides hands-on experience in prioritization, communication, and cross-functional teamwork.

What are some common challenges faced by Product Manager Interns, and how can they overcome them?

Product Manager Interns often face the challenge of balancing multiple stakeholder priorities while learning new tools and processes quickly. Since they are new to the role and organization, understanding the product's vision and aligning with cross-functional teams like engineering, design, and marketing can be daunting. Product Manager Intern

Centerfield

Los Angeles, CA • On-site

Internship

Posted 19 days ago

Job description

Hi, We're Centerfield!
Supercharged customer acquisition. Centerfield delivers outcome-based digital marketing solutions and personalized omnichannel experiences for the world's leading brands. Powered by our proprietary Dugout platform, Centerfield acquires customers at scale for leading residential service, insurance, e-commerce, and B2B brands. Centerfield's digital experiences and digital brands, such as Business.com and BroadbandNow.com, reach more than 150 million in-market shoppers annually. Centerfield is headquartered in Silicon Beach and is proud to be recognized by Built in LA as a Best Place to Work in Los Angeles.
The Opportunity...
We are looking for an excited, data-driven and collaborative Product Manager Intern to play a supportive role in building optimized experiences for our digital sales funnel and data products in insurance and home services. You will assist with launching solutions and maximizing revenue across conversion points for the Centerfield platform.
A meaningful part of this internship will focus on agentic AI - building and testing AI-driven workflows that can complete tasks an on-call agent would normally do (e.g., customer support, sales, lead qualification). You'll help evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and iterate on solutions that improve real call and conversion outcomes.
This is a cross-functional role that requires creative and strategic thinking about products that tie together brands, consumer attributes, and buying signals to support sales call optimization and ultimately drive conversion and revenue. As a Product Manager Intern you can expect to learn how to synthesize and ideate on strategy, align goals between engineering, design, content, data science, and executive stakeholders, and execute on ideas. Excellent communication skills are a must, as we strive to ship mission-critical products.
How You'll Contribute...
  • Support product strategy and vision for our platform verticals
  • Define and develop detailed business requirements and user stories
  • Assist with prioritization and trade-offs between different roadmap initiatives
  • Track product KPIs, monitoring performance and scaling successful wins
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to test and iterate on agentic AI experiences supporting on-call interactions (support, sales, qualification)
  • Help define success metrics and evaluation approaches for AI-assisted/AI-driven call flows (quality, conversion, compliance, efficiency)
  • Collaborate with our Medicare agency partners to support Sales Enablement tools and related workflow improvements
  • Further develop PM skills with an experienced team of product managers and learn from a personal mentor
  • Work collaboratively with other product team members, and cross-functionally to build consensus on products in planning, development and launch
  • Complete a Product Management project for your department that impacts the business
  • At the end of your internship, present your project and final product to department heads and our C-suite team

What We're Looking For...
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to use contextual data and metrics to test hypothesis, back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive action
  • Eagerness to learn; someone who wants to jump in, learn new skills, and immediately apply them to real-world problems and products
  • Interest in AI-enabled products (especially agentic AI, conversational AI, or automation) and curiosity about how to measure and improve them in production
  • New graduates or rising seniors who expect to complete their degree in Spring 2027
  • Interest in the digital marketing industry or call centers, and eagerness to learn more about Centerfield's industry
  • Local to our Playa Vista HQ and willing to come into the office 3 days/week
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a relevant field with a strong writing background

Intern Life at Centerfield...
  • This is a hybrid position, and employees are expected to work in our Playa Vista, CA office every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
  • Outside patio overlooking Playa Vista + cabanas, firepits & working grills.
  • Breakroom supplied with games, couches, workout equipment + weekly in-office exercise classes hosted by professional instructors (yoga, kickboxing & circuit training).
  • Paid charity and volunteer days (local mentor programs, adopt a pet, beach cleanup, etc.).
  • Unlimited free snacks and drinks around the office!
  • Monthly happy hours, catered Thursday lunches.
  • Award-winning culture & unprecedented team spirit (featured in LA Business Journal & Built In LA Best Places to Work).
  • Monthly team outings (ball games, casino night, hikes, etc.).
  • Career growth - we enjoy promoting from within!
