About the Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our growing product team. This is a 6-month contract opportunity. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful product initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Reporting to the product leadership team, this role will support the development and optimization of product experiences across Epic's platform. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in engineering, design, data, content, and marketing to help define features, improve user journeys, and drive measurable impact.
This role is especially well-suited for someone with an interest in search, recommendations, discovery, and product optimization, and who is excited about using data and experimentation to improve the user experience for children, families, and educators.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the planning, execution, and iteration of product initiatives across Epic's platform
• Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to define product requirements and deliver high-quality user experiences
• Analyze product performance and user behavior to identify opportunities for improvement
• Help optimize key user journeys such as content discovery, search, recommendations, onboarding, and engagement
• Translate user feedback, business needs, and data insights into clear product ideas and actionable next steps
• Contribute to product documentation, roadmaps, experiment design, and launch planning
• Monitor feature performance after launch and recommend improvements based on results
• Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in product management, product operations, strategy, analytics, consulting, or a related field
• Strong interest in digital consumer products, education technology, or personalization systems
• Preferred experience working on or closely supporting search, recommendation, discovery, ranking, or content optimization features
• Understanding of basic product optimization methods, such as A/B testing, funnel analysis, KPI tracking, and hypothesis-driven iteration
• Strong analytical thinking and comfort working with product and business metrics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional environment
• Passion for Epic's mission to inspire kids to read and learn
Nice to Have
• Experience working with recommendation systems, search relevance, personalization, or content platforms
• Familiarity with SQL, analytics tools, or experimentation platforms
• Experience in consumer, marketplace, media, edtech, or other education-related products
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Experience working with cross-functional global teams
