Payroll Specialist / Payroll Administrator

Location: Farmingdale, Long Island, NY

Schedule: On‑site | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Role Overview

As our Payroll Specialist, you’ll manage end‑to‑end payroll operations for a multi‑state, commission‑based workforce using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring employees are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • New hire onboarding — Process new hires through ADP Onboarding and ensure accurate employee setup
  • Employee record management — Maintain all employee transactions in ADP ESS, including terminations, salary updates, tax changes, and direct deposit setup
  • Garnishment administration — Manage wage garnishments and withholding orders in compliance with legal requirements
  • Commission payroll — Process Draw vs. Commission payroll with precision for sales and commission‑based roles
  • Union payroll support — Assist with union payroll and adhere to applicable agreements
  • Regulatory compliance — Ensure payroll accuracy across all federal and state tax laws
  • Manual check processing — Prepare manual checks and manage direct deposit reversals or deletions
  • Payroll auditing — Audit payroll using ADP Preview to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Reporting & analytics — Generate and analyze payroll data using ADP Workforce Now and Excel
  • Excel data validation — Use pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to validate payroll data
  • Employee support — Provide timely, professional payroll assistance to active and terminated employees
  • Cross‑department collaboration — Partner with payroll colleagues and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
