Senior Payroll Manager EMEA

About the Role

As ABB Robotics embarks on its journey as a standalone global leader in automation, we are looking for a Payroll Partner to support payroll transition and transformation activities across Europe during this exciting period of change. This role will work closely with Payroll Partners responsible for both transition and future operational payroll delivery, providing dedicated support throughout the transformation phase. You will support assigned countries, including Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Ireland and additional countries as business needs evolve, helping to gather requirements, document processes, coordinate knowledge transfer activities and support payroll implementation projects following the SoftBank Group acquisition. This will be a global role with hybrid or remote model of work. Preferred candidates are from Europe, specifically from Krakow, Poland or Madrid, Spain.

The position is initially focused on payroll transformation activities. Depending on business needs and individual performance, the role may evolve into a permanent position with operational payroll responsibilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Transition Support: Support payroll transition activities for assigned countries, including process discovery, documentation, knowledge transfer coordination and transition planning
  • Implementation & Testing: Support payroll implementation projects through testing, data validation, issue resolution and go-live preparation activities.
  • Process Governance: Ensure transition deliverables, payroll documentation and process controls are complete, accurate and aligned with project objectives
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps during the post-acquisition integration and drive standardizations across the regional cluster
  • Stakeholder Management:Act as a primary partner to all ABB Robotics local teams to represent payroll on cross-functional projects and deliver business value
  • Future Operational Readiness: Support the preparation of payroll operations for post-transition ownership and contribute to operational payroll activities as business needs evolve

Requirements

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in "Day 1" environments and understands the nuances of a shared services landscape.

  • 5-8 years of hands-on payroll experience supporting respective regions, preferably within a high-growth or multinational environment
  • Proven track record in a Shared Services (SSC) environment using a Global Vendor/Outsourced model
  • Strong proficiency in Workday (HCM/Time and system integrations) is highly preferred
  • Advanced ability to reconcile complex datasets and perform deep-dive audits on gross-to-net calculations
  • Resilience in the face of change, a "consultative" approach to vendor management, and the ability to navigate a carve-out/integration
