POSITION OVERVIEW – Real Estate & Construction Corporate Paralegal/Contracts Manager
We're seeking a detail-oriented and degreed professional to join our team as a Real Estate & Construction Corporate Paralegal. This role requires expertise in letter writing, subcontract terms and conditions, and collaboration within legal frameworks. Experience in the construction industry is advantageous, enhancing the ability to navigate construction-specific legal matters. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing LNTP processes, ensuring smooth funding stages, and providing comprehensive legal support across various practice groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Letter Writing: Draft and prepare various types of letters for communication with clients.
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in written correspondence.
- Subcontract T&C's: Review and analyze subcontract terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with legal team to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Provide insights on potential legal implications and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Legal Team Support: Work collaboratively with the legal team to facilitate seamless operations.
- Assist in legal research, document preparation, and case management.
- LNTP Process: Navigate LNTP (Limited Notice to Proceed) procedures.
- Manage and facilitate the process of funding stages, new scope requests, and expanded work.
- Prepare, support, and seek approvals for various stages, involving extensive letter writing.
- Leverage previous experience in the construction industry to bring insights into legal matters related to construction projects.
- Understand the unique challenges and legal intricacies within the construction sector.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a degree in Paralegal Studies or related field.
- 3+ years of professional work experience
- Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction-related legal issues and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in drafting clear and effective letters.
- Familiarity with subcontract terms and conditions.
- Understanding of legal processes and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively within a legal team.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Thrive in a dynamic environment with LNTP procedures.
- Quick and efficient in adapting to expanded work requirements.
