Expanding creative hospitality brand is seeking a Director of People & Culture for their newest opening in Las Vegas. The People Operations is here to propel the organization into hyper growth while honoring our storied past and promoting our exceptional culture. The Director, People & Culture, is uniquely positioned to promote the culture and values of the brand as the main point of contact for our team, provides day-to-day support to the business and enables our leaders to make decisions based on data and results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Transformation
Lead the people operations at our largest location in Las Vegas. Our largest and most complex operation yet will require a people leader to support a team that will deliver world class hospitality to our guests, our partners, and our team members. We hope to become a best-in-class employer in the Las Vegas market
and deliver excellent experiences to exceed the expectations of all of our team members.
People Practices
Onboarding Process offer letters, onboarding documents, wage notices, and I9 forms.
Document Management Ensure the accurate and timely filing of all employee-related documentation, including but not limited to transfer paperwork, rate of pay forms, tip agreements, corrective action forms, termination documents etc.
Employee Relations Serve as tier one support (main point of contact) for all ER inquiries including employer policy and workplace procedure inquires. Escalate and assign matters as necessary to members of the People Team and collaborate with operations leadership to proactively address and resolve matters in a timely manner. Work closely with operations leadership to ensure our standards, policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook are upheld.
Partner Relations Work as a partner within the Casino ecosystem to ensure positive relations between our employees and the Casino team.
Recruitment support venue and manager level recruitment and oversee venue recruitment coordinator jointly with Recruitment Director.
Workers Compensation Responsible for claim handling (investigations, return to work, lost wage analysis and experience reporting). Primary point of contact with the broker.
Unemployment Claims Manage all administration of unemployment claims via Equifax.
Leaves and Accommodations Manage the interactive process and record keeping for all forms of paid family leave, FMLA, disability, medical and religious accommodations, and all other types of similar requests.
Workplace Investigations Support your Director of People & Culture as primary interviewer, note taker and investigator. Communicate processes and next steps with operations leadership in a timely fashion. Bring all investigations to a timely resolution in keeping with the Employee Handbook.
Risk and Benefits
Serve as tier one support (main point of contact) for all employee benefits including health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, COBRA, etc.). Escalate and assign matters as necessary to members of the People Team and collaborate
Department People Team
Reports to COO (Interim reporting structure) with operations leadership to proactively address and resolve matters in a timely manner.
Execute regular audits, including but not limited to: ACA Reporting, Benefits Eligibility, Rate of Pay, Training, Compliance, etc.
Maintain a breadth and depth of local, national, and international employment law and best practices. Update company policy as necessary and ensure our leaders are up to speed.
Conduct quarterly HR Safety & Compliance audits.
Conduct quarterly Benefits audits and ensure monthly benefit reconciliation with the Finance Team.
Assist managers in executing appropriate administration for all employee related practices, including Rate of Pay Forms, Exit Paperwork, etc.
Analytics and Reporting
Identify ER patterns and training opportunities.
Deliver and report on all engagement surveys.
Manage all administration for the Performance Management and Succession planning processes.
Maintain the People Tracker and report on results regularly.
Complete all government and census reporting.
DAY IN THE LIFE
Daily
Execute your business transformation strategy and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired results.
Coach and counsel operations leadership on day-to-day issues.
Triage open ER items, assign and escalate to resolution.
Support General Manager in open investigations as interviewer, note taker and investigator.
Weekly
Contribute to the Regional People/Ops meeting. Review open ER items, active investigations, leaves of absences, accommodations, work comp, and people at risk.
Contribute to the Global People Team meeting. Review critical path plans and KPIs.
Monthly
Contribute to the Succession Planning Session including operations leadership. Review updates to succession plans including performance and potential scores, mobility flags, task force eligibility, and people at risk.
Quarterly/ Annually
Participate in our quarterly global Scorecard Meeting including all Head Office, operations leadership, and GMs.
Review company updates, financial performance and brand highlights.
MY KPIS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of Nevada and, specifically, Las Vegas laws and regulations.
Experience operating in a large scale, national business.
Ability to work within constraints and to challenge the status quo. Comfortable with ambiguity and taking part in complex strategy discussions.
Essential Functions
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Professional proficiency in spoken and written Spanish (preferred)
Able to work a variable schedule (nights, weekends and holidays) and travel both domestically and internationally on a regular basis and as needed for the business.
Ability to access and accurately input information using both traditional and company-specific hardware and software programs on a POS, PC, or mobile devices.
WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years of Human Resources management or generalist experience providing support to leaders (required).
Human Resources experience within hospitality industry (required).
Experience working within a Las Vegas casino or casino-adjacent business preferred.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, related field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent (preferred).
AWI Certificate or equivalent (preferred).
Basic verbal/written Spanish (preferred).
