Salary: $80,000-$90,000

Currently, we are seeking to hire an experienced Director of Show Operations to supervise, handle and ultimately own the operations for the set-up and breakdown of our booths at multiple tradeshows throughout the year, across the United States.   This position will be responsible for managing our team of internal and external Merchandisers, as well as be the main point of contact for third party products and people.   

 

Essential Functions:

  • Overall project management to ensure large sq ft booth is set up and broken down at temporary shows.
  • Work with union and non-union contractors to ensure booth built to layout specifications for set up and packed up properly at end of the show.
  • Be the main point of contact for 3rd party contractors, assisting with negotiating pay and schedules.   
    • Ensure all Company and 3rd party products and materials arrive at location without issue.
    • Ensure all Company and 3rd party products and materials are packed and set for pickup at the conclusion of the show based on instructions provided.
  • Is present throughout tradeshows, able to jump in as needed to fix work stations
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Experience and Education:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, working trade shows ideally in the gifts/home decor industries 
  • Ability to travel multiple times a year 
  • Proven track record of running large scale projects
  • Familiarity with working in union and non-union based Convention Centers
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Excellent oral communication, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Ability to make important decisions under pressure
  • Professionalism: Reacts well under pressure; accepts responsibility for their own actions; follows through on commitments; friendly and approachable
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to work effectively is a MUST
