Sales Development Director – North America

Location: United States (Remote)

Reports To: Chief Sales and Marketing Officer


Position Summary

The Sales Development Director will be responsible for driving business growth throughout the United States and Canada by developing strategic relationships with leading retailers, OEM partners, distributors, hospitality groups, and e-commerce operators.

This is a highly visible, field-based role requiring consistent travel, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a strong network within the bedding, furniture, and hospitality industries.

The successful candidate will bring an established network of executive-level relationships across major retailers, hospitality groups, e-commerce operators, distributors, and OEM customers, and will serve as IKANO's primary commercial representative in the market.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within major retail, hospitality, and OEM channels.
  • Establish relationships with decision makers across Top 100 North American retailers and key hospitality groups.
  • Develop opportunities for both OEM/Contract Manufacturing programs and IKONA branded business.
  • Drive expansion into emerging channels and strategic partnerships.

Account Development & Management

  • Lead customer onboarding and account implementation processes.
  • Conduct periodic on-site trainings and provide consistent support to the customer’s salesforce.
  • Coordinate support between customers and the internal sales team.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with strategic accounts.
  • Develop growth plans for existing customers and identify incremental opportunities.

OEM & Contract Manufacturing

  • Develop relationships with leading mattress, furniture, and OEM customers.
  • Identify opportunities for private-label and contract manufacturing programs.
  • Work closely with product development and operations teams to translate customer needs into scalable programs.

IKONA Brand Development

  • Support the launch and expansion of IKONA throughout North America.
  • Develop retail placement opportunities and strategic distribution partnerships.
  • Train retail partners and sales teams on brand positioning, product features, and selling strategies.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, pricing, and channel developments.
  • Provide regular market feedback to leadership and product development teams.
  • Support forecasting, pipeline development, and annual business planning.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in mattress, furniture, home furnishings, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of developing large retail accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Existing strong relationships with major North American retailers strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling OEM, private-label, contract manufacturing, or branded products.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada (50%+).
