Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position manages and supervises the training and development team.

Position Summary

This position is a key organizational position that will manage and deliver a meaningful and engaging training and development experience for Metrolina. A successful candidate will be an expert in adult learning, have the ability to flex training styles for multiple levels of experience, and be able to support Metrolina’s strategic programs with relevant training materials. There are opportunities for both ILT as well as WBT development and delivery.

This position may work primarily at our Huntersville, NC or our York, SC site, but will have the ability to conduct ILTs at both facilities and for remote personnel.

Job Description

  • Selects, trains, and develops a high performing team.
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts and leadership to assess training and development needs and recommend meaningful program development.
  • Provide guidance and support to leaders and teams as they navigate cultural shifts and align with organizational goals.
  • Develop measurable, impactful training programs with SMEs and support the company’s strategic programming.
  • Facilitate ILTs for content such as leadership development, human capabilities skills, etc.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness in partnership with the People Operations analytics team.
  • Optimize the company’s online learning center in partnership with Systems Manager to ensure a great learner experience to include clear learning path opportunities to live out the company’s focus of developing exceptional people.
  • Assist HR Leadership with recommending whether to build content needs internally (WBT, ILT, hybrid) or source externally.
  • Maintain relevancy in training & development trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ year’s training and development design and facilitation experience in a company setting.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, ability to adapt to different learner experience levels.
  • Adept in a variety of training mediums, platforms, and methods.
  • Experience evaluating external training programs for relevancy and impact.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between work sites and flex schedule to facility ILTs as needed.
  • Proven ability to work with SMEs and develop content to deliver their learning objectives.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proven capabilities to develop strategies with system administration partners and measuring user experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Human Resources, Training & Development, etc.).
  • Learning & Development Certification (CPLP or similar).
  • Litmos experience a plus.
  • Agile leadership skills with ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • SHRM-CP.

Job Setting & Physical Demands

Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. The role is sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets, bend or stand, as necessary. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation to meet business needs is required, such as driving and riding in a golf cart around the facility. Work hours may fluctuate to accommodate seasonal work requirements and occasional support and training for evening and/or weekend shift employees.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted may be required.
