The Role
Working under minimal supervision, a System Support Technician (SST) provides remote support to the successful installation, preventative, reactive, and emergency services for automated enforcement equipment. When called upon the SST will provide services in the field. An SST will work with the engineering team in a collaborative effort to optimize our service delivery and ensure the highest quality of operations for our customers. The daily work will include working with PC’s and software to remotely monitor the equipment, hands-on support of the enforcement systems, coordinating with local contractors for service tasks, recording maintenance logs, and communicating with team members to share knowledge allowing an effective solution to problems.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Be a self-starter, have the capacity to work independently with limited supervision
- Take ownership of technical issues, drive each problem to resolution
- Have the understanding that the SST activities provide reinforcement of our existing customer relationship and are the foundation for future opportunities
- Effective communicator to your team, Sensys Gatso in other regions, subcontractors, and our internal & external customers
- Remote monitoring and troubleshooting of photo enforcement sites
- Ability to analyze trends and proactively identify problems
- Knowledge of AC & DC circuits including relays, must be skilled with the use of a multimeter
- Experience with networks, have the ability to setup and troubleshoot IP devices
- Support of field deployments through the configuration and testing of equipment prior to shipment
- Test and repair of photo enforcement equipment helping to replenish our safety stock
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- A degree in a technical field (engineering, technology, IT) or comparable job training
- 2 - 4 years experience with installing, programming, repairing electronic equipment
- Familiar with Google applications; docs, sheets, slides
- Have dependable transportation, use of a vehicle is required
Work Environment
- Ability to work at heights of 10’ to 30’ high
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexibility to work after hours and weekends
