Senior Integrations and Infrastructure Engineer (DoE)

Job Purpose/Summary

Work with our team of engineers, scientists and human factors professionals to develop visualization and data capabilities for applications in cybersecurity, space, and telecommunications. This individual contributor role will involve hands-on work to develop reliable, secure infrastructure, and to integrate our machine learning and geospatial data systems with existing operational government systems. We are a small, independent team within a small to medium-sized company.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support requirements definition and documentation of system and interface capabilities.
• Develop CI/CD and other devsecops-relevant infrastructure, such as unit/integration testing pipelines, load testing infrastructure, and static analysis/vulnerability assessment.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for on-prem and cloud systems including Docker Compose, Cloudformation, and Terraform.
• Participate in code review.
• Support documentation of system capabilities.
• Support occasional on-site work to integrate on-prem capabilities with operational systems.

Qualifications

Required:

• Undergraduate education in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years’ experience working on a customer-facing website, application or data system with reliability/uptime requirements.

• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Travis, Jenkins, and Github Actions
• Experience with bash, and at least one scripting language such as Python
• Experience with RHEL or Ubuntu management (e.g., system services, basic networking, credential/certificate management)
• US citizen, ability to hold US security clearance

Preferred:

• Experience with managing infrastructure-as-code for an actively developed application, including supporting full stack/data engineers to self-manage IaC changes.
• Experience with testing infrastructure for large scale data applications (e.g., data quality assessment, load testing) or complex front-end applications (e.g., headless browsers).
• Experience with developing secure cloud and on-prem systems for use with government systems.

Working conditions

This role may require up to 15% travel.
