is currently hiring for a full-time Volunteer Program Manager & Events Coordinator located at the Animal Shelter in Fruit Heights, Utah.

This position oversees the volunteer program with a focus on recruiting, training, and the daily management of all volunteers. .

Requirements: Graduation from high school (or equivalent), plus two (2) years of related full-time advanced clerical or administrative support experience. Experience must include answering phones, calendar management, business correspondence, reports and memos, email and computer software skills. Preference for work experience managing volunteers in a non-profit or public entity.

Pay range and benefits:

  • $18.65 - $23.71/hr, salary based on qualifications and experience.

This position requires working shifts, including weekends.

This position is charged to drive positive change by leading volunteers, removing barriers, and ensuring best practices are in place. Excellent skills in communication and collaboration with a variety of teams is required to ensure consistency and to achieve the most optimal outcome for each animal with available resources.

Day to Day Duties
  • Coordinates and oversees daily operations of volunteer programs.
  • Supervises volunteers, which includes recruiting, orienting, and training.
  • Prioritizes, assigns, and reviews work of volunteers.
  • Arranges and attends offsite promotional events; assigns and supervises volunteers and staff at such events.
  • Gives instructions and supervises staff in transportation of animals to events.
  • Participates in the general social media plan of the department including Facebook posts and events, Twitter feeds, department website and email marketing.
  • Maintains volunteer software, including schedules, attendance records, manual, SOP, reports, and correspondence.
