Truelines client, a forward-thinking and fast-growing HMO startup, is conducting a careful search for a Financial Controller. As the Financial Controller, you will be on the ground floor of an exciting and innovative company, where your financial expertise and insights will be highly valued. This is a full-time leadership role reporting directly to the CFO and is located on-site in downtown Boston.
As the Financial Controller, you will:
- Lead the charge in overseeing the company's accounting operations.
- Lead the financial team, including Senior Accountants and AP Specialists.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Take the helm in creating financial forecasts and analyzing any variances.
- Develop business processes and accounting policies to strengthen our internal controls.
- Create financial reports adhering to both GAAP and SAP, explaining any differences to regulatory agencies and leadership team.
- Team up with external auditors and make sure our internal controls are solid.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations and reporting.
- Provide support and guidance to cross-functional teams on matters including audits, risk adjustment programs, and CMS bid processes.
- Present financial information to the Board of Directors in a digestible format, including recommended next steps.
You Will Succeed as the Financial Controller If You Have:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred
- 4+ years experience in the health insurance field as a Financial Controller, Director of Accounting, or similar role
- 2+ years experience leading teams and employees in the finance function
- Thorough understanding of GAAP, SAP, and risk management practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders and teammates
- Superb data analysis, forecasting, and general analytical skills
Compensation:$180,000 DOE
