Entry level - Logistics Coordinator

The Domestic Freight coordinator will be responsible for the planning, execution and monitoring of the flow of goods and materials through inland freight transportation (FTL, LTL, ISOs, Tank Trucks).

Brief overview of position:

The position will perform all the coordination duties; including but not limited to creating the RFQs, contacting suppliers, selecting the carrier, provide all required documentation, and follow up with supplier until material has been successfully delivered to the customer. The Domestic Freight Coordinator will be required to participate in a weekly planning meeting.

Logical problem-solving should come naturally to any Logistics coordinator. They are confident at troubleshooting and investigating if they don't have enough information to resolve issues or supply disruptions.

Detailed list of duties including but not limited to:

• Be genuinely excited to be an important part of the supply chain.

• Responsible for setting up new carriers - authorizing proper documents such as Certificates of Liability, Insurance, and any additional document required to be compliant with the NACD responsible distribution.

• Inform commercial team and customers of freight availability, shipping dates, delays. Resolve customer concerns, in a timely manner
• Check on daily pickups and deliveries in order to ensure proper protocol is being followed on every load.
• Maintaining communication with drivers and carrier dispatch to ensure timely delivery of freight. (Our business is proactive communication, are you a pro at following up?)
• Maximize profit of each load by expertly negotiating with carriers to ensure profitable margins. (This is how we make our money. Every extra dollar adds up)
• In charge of covering daily freight for customers while maximizing the company profit per transaction.
• Negotiate long term contracts with suppliers which provides for continuous year over year improvement in performance, including cost, quality, and delivery.
• Develop and manage supplier cost reduction programs and preferred carrier program.
• Monitors and reports lane cost variances as required.
• Create Request for Freight Quotes and monitors their status.
• Monitor Performance of suppliers through review of Supplier Corrective Action Report and other data relative to performance (on time deliveries, quality, price, etc) for continuing relationships and improving performance as necessary.
• Build sustainable relationships and trust with internal customers and suppliers through open and interactive communication.
• Other tasks as required.
