*This is a contingent job posting based on award of contract, with an anticipated start date of May 2024.*

Position Overview

Provide technical and operational support for the Space Digital Integrated Network (SDIN) Technical Refresh project supporting the Wing Information and Communications Support (WICS2) contract. Project completion requires the team to perform sustainment and coordinate technical refresh installations and equipment replacements of Red SDIN, Black SDIN and SDIN optical network equipment. The equipment includes, but is not limited to network routers, switches, Circuit-to-Packet (CTP) devices, Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) and other optical network equipment. Perform site surveys, configuration, and accreditation, shipment of equipment to ~30 CONUS/OCONUS sites, installation & testing of equipment, cutovers & integration into the SDIN networks.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Network Engineer Staff are to configure, install and test network equipment supporting the SDIN tech refresh project. Responsible for on-site engineering, taking direction from the Sr. Govt Network Engineer for successful network upgrade. The Network Engineer will coordinate with the Sr. Network Engineer and Juniper as required for configuration and installation; ensure cybersecurity vulnerabilities are adequately addressed and augment the organizational network (NMC) team in-between install actions. Roles and responsibilities may extend to other functional areas as needed supporting the WICS2 contract. Reports to the Program Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be IAT Level 2 Certified with a current US passport, available for ~25% CONUS/OCONUS travel.
Must have excellent communication, teamwork/collaboration, time management, organization and problem-solving skills. Must have the technical expertise to execute the mission on a small team and independently. Must take initiative and be motivated, technically savvy and be capable of adapting to change.

Education/Experience 

Prefer a BS in related technical field or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience. However, military training and at least 4 years of directly related experience may substitute. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Clearance Requirement

Must have a current US DoD Top Secret Clearance w/ SCI eligibility.
