Job description

Job Title: Aerospace and Defense Assembler
Location: JM Fabrication Company, LLC
Job Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)


Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace and Defense Assembler with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the precise assembly of components in accordance with engineering documentation, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements. This role requires a meticulous approach to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict production schedules in a regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly of aerospace and defense components
  • Accurately read, interpret, and execute work based on assembly drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
  • Assemble parts and subassemblies using hand tools, torque drivers, fixtures, and calibrated equipment
  • Adhere to AS9100 quality standards and internal quality control procedures throughout the assembly process
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately, including travelers, inspection records, and work orders
  • Meet daily and weekly production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Identify and report any non-conformances or issues affecting build quality or delivery timelines
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety practices


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing assembly
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings including GD&T
  • Proven ability to meet production targets while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, wiring, harnessing, or system integration (as applicable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, or other relevant industry certifications
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or digital work instructions


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Visual acuity for detailed assembly and inspection work
