Essential Functions:
• In Connecticut, private security management credentials involve state licensing via the Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (DESPP) for companies and officers, requiring approved training (8-hour course for guards), background checks, fingerprints, and fees.
• CPP (Certified Protection Professional): Considered the gold standard, requires significant experience (7-9 years) and proven leadership. Preferred, but not required.
• Responsible for coordinating the hiring and termination of all Loss Prevention personnel in conjunction with the Director of Loss Prevention. Alternatively, primary relationship manager with contracted Loss Prevention Security Officers third-party supplier.
• Ensure that all Loss Prevention personnel functions are being properly completed by the Loss Prevention Department.
• Ensure that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times, working in partnership with third-party security supplier.
• Responsible for disciplining Loss Prevention personnel (including via third-party supplier) in conjunction with the Director of Rooms and/or General Manager
• Primary contact for Presynct Incident Report software including user administration, report monitoring, training new users, etc.
• Reviews all incident reports completed in Presynct by managers and Loss Prevention supplier officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Maintains a good relationship with all departments within the hotel and ensures that efficient service is available at all times.
• Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
• Ensures that a thorough and complete investigation and report is made on incidents, (e.g., losses, thefts, and accidents and acts of violence) incurred by guests and associates.
• Responsible for coordinating guest room surveillance in conjunction with the Director of Rooms and/or General Manager
• Ensures that all phases of the key control program are maintained and any discrepancies noted are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Director of Rooms and/or General Manager
• Ensures that all items of Loss Prevention equipment (i.e., uniforms, walkie-talkies, cameras, etc.) are kept clean and in good working condition.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Monitors all traffic in the lobby area and restaurant, restrooms, garage area, and room service area to control non-guest (i.e.: intoxicated persons, prostitutes, vagrants, etc.)
• Reports all associates using unauthorized Hotel entrance/exits when reporting for work or leaving for the day to the Director of Loss Prevention.
• Work approximately 50 hours/week, to include days and evenings/nights when the most activity inside and/or outside (nearby) the hotel is expected. This includes most Friday and Saturday nights to assist with controlling noise and disruption to guests from the nightclubs nearby and in coordination with New Haven Police.
Hotel Specific Essential Functions:
¨ Conduct associate bag checks randomly and upon request of the General Manager
¨ Work approximately 50 hours/week, to include days and evenings/nights when the most activity inside and/or outside (nearby) the hotel is expected. This includes most Friday and Saturday nights to assist with controlling noise and disruption to guests from the nightclubs nearby in coordination with New Haven Police.
¨ Assist with training of new Omni Associates at New Hire Orientation on loss prevention and safety topics, including OSH
Tools and Equipment:
¨ Telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, computer and printer
file folders, filing cabinet, facsimile machine
¨ Lift jack dolly, hand truck, camera, first aid equipment
