Job description

Apex Microtechnology offers industry-leading innovative precision power analog components used to control current, voltage, and/or speed for applications in the high-reliability industrial, defense, aerospace, medical, and semiconductor capital markets. The Apex product family includes power operational amplifiers (linear amplifiers), pulse width modulation (PWM) amplifiers (Class D switching amplifiers), and precision voltage references.
The Aerospace & Defense Technical Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, supporting customer design activity, and developing strategic relationships within the aerospace and defense markets. This role serves as a technical and commercial resource to customers, manufacturer representatives, and internal teams, supporting design wins and long-term business growth across Apex's product portfolio.
Essential functions and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within aerospace, defense, and high-reliability markets.
  • Support customers throughout the design cycle by providing technical sales support and coordinating Apex engineering resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, engineering teams, purchasing groups, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Drive design wins and revenue growth through strategic account development and customer engagement.
  • Conduct customer visits and presentations to support technical discussions, product evaluations, and business development activities.
  • Work closely with engineering, marketing, and operations teams to communicate customer needs, market trends, and product opportunities.
  • Support and coordinate manufacturer representatives within assigned markets and territories.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer applications, programs, and technical requirements within the aerospace and defense sectors.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, customer activity tracking, and opportunity reporting through CRM tools.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly business reviews to Apex management.
  • Represent Apex at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed.
  • Perform other sales-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Seeking a highly motivated, results-driven team member with strong technical aptitude and a passion for customer engagement and business development.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, program managers, purchasing teams, and executive leadership.
  • Relevant experience in technical sales, field applications engineering, account management, business development, or related customer-facing technical roles.
  • Experience supporting complex electronic hardware products and technical sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence customer decisions in highly technical environments.
  • Experience leveraging CRM and sales platform tools for forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business, marketing, or another related field.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% as required.
  • Must be authorized to access export-controlled information and meet the definition of a U.S. Person in accordance with U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in analog and power management electronics.
  • Aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics industry experience.
  • Experience supporting military, avionics, space, or industrial system customers.
  • Experience working with manufacturer representatives and distribution channels.
  • Familiarity with design-in and long-cycle technical sales environments.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Work Environment:
  • 50% Office environment
  • Office is in Tucson, AZ
  • Minimum 50% Travel
  • Occasional weekend travel is required
