Job Description


I. Organizational Overview

Philadelphia Youth Basketball, Inc. (PYB), officially launched in June of 2015, is a community-built youth development and community empowerment organization that leverages the iconic game of basketball to help today’s urban youth overcome the most urgent and systemic issues facing underserved communities.  A diverse and impassioned group of individuals, including leaders from the grass-roots to the tree-tops, have been working diligently to execute upon this mission by building an impactful program, a robust and sustainable organization, and ultimately our world-class ‘Sixth Man’ Center to help uplift thousands of children, youth, and families for generations to come.

II. Primary Scope of Duties

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Administration is responsible for all front-desk operations and will serve as the center’s business manager. The Manager of Administration will directly supervise a Coordinator of Guest Experience and all Guest Experience Associates. The Guest Experience Manager will provide the highest level of customer service to prospects and guests regarding facility and community information, enrollment procedures, and ongoing customer satisfaction work with the Operations Team on the center’s master calendar management for rentals and events, making sure the Guest Experience Center  “Front Desk.” has adequate coverage. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


Essential Job Functions: 

  1. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the front desk/ guest experience center
  2. Responsible for training and updating staff on the Visitor Management System 
  3. Responsible for processing and inputting data into the Visitor Management System 
  4. Recruiting, Hiring, and Development of the Guest Experience Staff Team Members 
  5. Supervising and training all Guest Experience Staff Team Members, including the Guest Experience Coordinator. 
  6. Responsible for purchasing and procuring office supplies for the center and carrying out other administrative tasks such as bank deposits and reconciling the cash draw for the front desk. 
  7. Provides follow-up to guests after any complaints are filed 
  8. All other duties as assigned by their supervisor. 


III. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Dispositions

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • At least 4 years working in the customer service area 
  • At least 2 years of experience of supervising part-time staff. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a community environment with children, parents, community organizers, donors, partners, etc.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with software for business or facility operations 


IV. Compensation and Perks 

Salary for this role will be between $60,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience.

This position reports to the Director of Operations. The Manager of Administration is expected to work in person at the “Sixth Man” Center. Philadelphia Youth Basketball is located at 1735 Market Street in Philadelphia until offices are opened at the “Sixth Man” Center at 4250 Wissahickon Avenue.
