Medical Records Coordinator
Location: Norcross, GA
Hours: Full-time, Temp-to-perm possibility, M-F 8am-5pm.
Pay: $18-22 an hour.
Job Summary: Works closely with the provide direct support to Director, OPO Quality Systems, and also provide support to the Quality and Recovery Services departments on in collaboration with the other Admins currently supporting those departments.
Responsibilities:
- Completing chart assembly including initial scanning upon receipt of records
- Creating tasks and timelines for chart completion requirements based on policy and protocol requirements
- Identifying critical missing documentation upon assembly as a part of the quality review process and escalating immediately according to protocols and/or guidelines.
- Completing post-quality review scanning of records as required by prescribed timelines
- Primary responsibility to complete quality assurance verification post scanning of records as a part of the quality process
- Completing historical record scanning following policy based on thresholds established by Quality Leadership
- Responsible for filing and scanning documents received post-record closure consistent with existing protocols and timelines
- Maintaining the record storage areas for the paper charts.
- Preparing records for off-site storage including logging, packaging, labeling, and verification of requirements before shipping
- Maintaining the off-site storage log of records with quality leadership
- Prepping records for legal requests according to existing protocols
- Performing functions as a member of the quality team as required to both support and provide backup to quality processes
- Responsible for participating in quality assessment performance improvement (QAPI) activities for the OPO as outlined in the OPO Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Plan
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum one year of relevant job experience
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures related to records and to apply them in specific situations
- Requires ability to work with confidential work products to protect the integrity of records.
- Requires close attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are needed
- Ability to prioritize daily work schedule
- Working knowledge of computer records system
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe
- Demonstrated physical ability to lift, carry and/or move equipment and supplies of varying weight up to 25 pounds
