Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Records Tech in Lakewood.
Salary Range: $18.00-$24.00

Responsibilities
The Medical Records Tech (Oncology Chart Preparation) is responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, and timely preparation of patient charts prior to oncology visits. This role focuses on gathering, organizing, and verifying medical records, test results, and documentation to support efficient and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with medical records, and prior Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
-Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepare and review patient charts in advance of oncology appointments to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Obtain and organize relevant medical records including:
    • Physician notes
    • Diagnostic reports (pathology, imaging, lab results)
    • Hospital records and consult notes
  • Verify patient information, medication lists, and history for accuracy
  • Follow up with external providers, hospitals, and diagnostic facilities to obtain missing records
  • Upload and correctly index documents into the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Ensure all required documentation is available for provider review prior to patient visit
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
  • Communicate with clinical staff and providers regarding incomplete or missing information

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years' experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Previous experience in a medical records' experience preferred. Knowledge of electronic health record systems. Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail and Quality Focus skills needed.
Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against influenza upon commencing employment. Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis for exemptions to this requirement in accordance with applicable law.
