Job description

Overview

Join our team of dedicated professionals who provide services and operational support to award winning hospitals through roles in supply chain, IT and cybersecurity, clinical engineering, capital procurement, medical coding, project management and more. We provide services to clinically excellent community hospitals across the country that are dedicated to ensuring quality, compassionate care for every patient, every time.

Responsibilities

The Medical Records Tech is responsible for the day-to-day operations of records support throughout the records warehouse. This may include compiling incoming records, verifying accuracy, sorting/coding according to file system, storing records in paper form, and input of information into computerized storage system. The Medical Records Tech will also assist in prepping and scanning; removing of staples, chart dividers, post it notes, taping down loose documents and counting of pages to be appropriately batched. Searching and investigating information in files, typing reports, applying labels and implementing filing system as necessary. Maintaining a safe working environment and optimizing space utilization. Maintains a department "culture" that is patient-focused and participates in teamwork, quality, integrity and professional growth

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.    High School Diploma or equivalent required.

2.    One-year Medical Record Storage or scanning experience preferred.

3.    Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.

4.    Knowledge of terminal digit filing and medical terminology preferred.

5.    Accurate alphabetic, numeric, and/or terminal-digit filing preferred.

6.    Knowledge of State & Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation preferred.

7.    Computer data entry with 10-key, with accurate typing speed of 35 wp; preferred.

8.    High degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity.

9.    Strong computer skills (MS Office).

10.  Valid driver's license preferred.

11.  Travel up to 20% of the time may be required.
