Job Description: Food and Beverage Manager
Our Club is seeking a highly organized and skilled Food and Beverage Manager to oversee all aspects of food and beverage production, as well as related services for our members and guests. As a Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing budgets, hiring and training subordinates, and ensuring that our members and guests have an exceptional dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement budgets for food and beverage production
- Hire, train, and supervise subordinates including servers, hosts, support staff, and bartenders.
- Apply relevant marketing principles to ensure that the wants and needs of Club members and guests are consistently exceeded
- Create and maintain inventory of food and beverage supplies
- Ensure quality control of all food and beverage products and services
- Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are implemented
- Helps plan and approve external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for the food operation
- Helps plan and approve the organizational chart, staffing and scheduling procedures, and job descriptions/ specifications for all department staff.
- Manages the long-range staffing needs of the department
- Research new products and develops an analysis of the cost/profit benefits
- Implements policies and procedures for food and beverage departments.
- Monitors the ordering and receiving program for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity and price on all purchases
- Greets guests and oversees actual service on a routine, random basis
- Helps develop wine lists and bottle/glass wine sales promotion programs.
- Ensures compliance with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire, and other laws/requirements.
- Personally, handles selected member and guest complaints and advises General Manager about appropriate corrective actions.
- Review and correct member charges compared with signed tickets, communicate issues with the charge back to the member
- Work closely with Event Director on common events and projects, and cover for Event Director in case of absence.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite especially Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint software.
- Develops interesting ways of promoting Club functions in the dining room and lounges.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food and beverage production or related field in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service
