POSITION TITLE: People Operations Specialist
LOCATION: Remote within Michigan
STATUS: Full Time, Exempt - 37.5 hours per week
ANNUAL SALARY: $55,000

Position Description
Reporting to the Director of People & Organizational Development, the People Operations Specialist facilitates the people processes related to operations, systems, and technology.  The People Operations Specialist ensures that all related processes are followed in accordance with rules, regulations, organizational policies and practices. The People Operations Specialist delivers strong support and customer service to both internal and external stakeholders while maintaining positive working relationships.  The People Operations Specialist also provides administrative support to the People, Culture & Equity team as needed including data entry and file maintenance. 
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
      Serves as the day-to-day liaison between employees in need of technical HR support, the PCE team, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for system and platform design and implementation projects.
      Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
      Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
      Maintains optimal function of people software and platforms (HRIS, LMS, ATS, etc.), which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
      Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to software and platform users.
      Collaborates with leaders, other departments, and the PCE team to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
      Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for users.
      Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports including monthly reports and performance evaluation tracking.
      Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for leaders, other departments, and the PCE team.
      Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
      Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
      Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in people software, platforms providers, vendors, and technology.
      Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; files documents into appropriate employee files; data entry; and performs other clerical functions.
      Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
      Participates in organizational and department meetings, events, and audits as assigned.
      Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
Required
      Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of professional work experience or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
      Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
      Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
      Analytical skills

Ability to:
o    Work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
o    Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
o    Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
o    Work in a hybrid or remote environment.
o    Handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.
o    Learn and navigate organization's systems and processes
o    Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
o    Maintain confidentiality.

Preferred
    PHR or SHRM-CP credential
      HRIS experience

$55,000 - $55,000 a year
