Day Shift Stockroom Support (12-hour Shift)

2-2-3 Schedule

Job Purpose:

The Stockroom Attendant is responsible for customer service and inventory control activities for the technical team. Key activities include assisting associates at the window, receiving parts and consumables, conducting cycle counts, and conducting master sanitation activities for the storeroom and other locations containing stocked and non-stocked inventory. Additionally, the technician assists with the continuous improvement initiatives of Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) to ensure customers have the right part, in the right amount, at the right time. The stockroom attendant plays a significant role in ensuring the technical team reaches targets for key performance indicators related to the storeroom, including, but not limited to, Number of Stockouts, Cycle Count Accuracy, Percent of Parts on a Bill of Material, and Inventory Value.

What are we looking for?Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, procurement and/or inventory role

  • Previous hands-on experience with SAP

  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:
  • Have full mobility with ability to climb ladders and stairs.

  • Ability to lift 25 lb several times per day.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of maintenance storeroom experience

  • 1+ years of experience in SAP, specifically dealing with inventory, material parts data, and storeroom transactions.

  • Knowledgeable about parts, maintenance shop needs and practices

  • Intermediate computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Foundational knowledge of quality & food safety in a manufacturing environment.

What will be your Key Responsibilities?
  • Provide timely and professional customer service to Mars associates, vendors/suppliers, delivery providers, contractors, and temporary workforce associates.

  • Identify opportunities and recommend changes to improve storeroom organization and sanitation and reduce waste whenever possible.

  • Receive parts both physically and through the site's computerized maintenance management system, SAP.

  • Adhere to processes and standards while maintaining and optimizing parts storage in the main storeroom, hallways, maintenance shop, warehouse, and anywhere parts are housed.

  • Ensure the storeroom and supporting locations are clean and well organized at all times. Organize shelves, drawers, and bins to ensure adherence to First In First Out (FIFO) standards.

  • Assist customers in part location, and in the understanding of storeroom processes and procedures.

  • Support the kitting process.

  • Update the stockout sheet and ensure all parts exiting the storeroom are accounted for appropriately.

  • Communicate with other stockroom associates and technical team as needed to ensure smooth shift hand over and part allocation.

  • Assist in the new part and new bin activities to ensure organization standards within the storeroom and other storage locations.

  • Conduct part returns as needed to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Conduct delivery activities as needed to ensure non-stocked items do not clutter storeroom areas.
