Job Description

Title:Mail Scanning Clerk GC2

Job Type: Full time, Regular
Location: 150 M Street NE, Washington, DC, 20002

Position Description:

As a Mail Scanning Clerk, you will be responsible for researching and scanning mail received by ENRD, providing quality customer service, and working effectively in a team environment with other department staff.

Specific Job Duties Include:

· Using ENRD databases to research incoming mail and determine the attorney and case each piece of mail belongs to.

· Entering complete and accurate case and attorney information into ENRD’s document management system for each piece of mail received.

· Preparing documents for digital scanning and reassembling documents after scanning.

· Sorting, scanning and saving the daily mail to ENRD’s document management system.

· Performing QC checks on mail scanned by other Mail Scanning Clerks.

· Responding to customer inquiries via telephone, email or in-person.

· Reporting daily individual workload and production statistics to the Mailroom Supervisor.

· Compiling and reporting daily, weekly and monthly statistics on department activities to the Mailroom Supervisor.

· Other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must

  • Be able to pass a Federal Government credit check and background investigation for a Public Trust clearance level.
  • Be able to pass a Novitex background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have at least six (6) months of experience performing the job duties describe above.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, databases and database software.
  • Be able to operate a variety of office equipment, including photocopiers, fax machines, document scanners and printers.
  • Possess good problem solving skills, pay attention to detail and be able to read and follow instructions explicitly.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be able to type 30 words per minute.
