Job DescriptionPosition Purpose:
Optimizes the efficiency of the Maintenance Department by providing short term and long term planning / scheduling that increases work output while minimizing wasted effort.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for estimating time and specifying materials, equipment, and manpower on maintenance work orders.
- Coordinate parts and materials availability with work orders to allow timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Schedule and plan preventive, routine maintenance, and shutdown work activities.
- Responsible for managing data input into the work order system.
- Responsible for managing a work order backlog.
- Assist in forecasting contractor manpower requirements and track and report daily manpower usage when needed.
- Write purchase order requisitions and contractor service agreements.
- Review work order requests and correct deficiencies.
- Communicate with operations to effectively plan and schedule work in accordance with their needs and their operating schedules.
- Complete safe work permits for contractors.
- Sign contractor time sheets and return them to purchasing daily for tracking of costs.
- Attend mechanic’s morning meeting to get feedback, adjust schedule, and be informed of emergency jobs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- 2 years previous experience in planning / scheduling and estimating industrial maintenance work preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of industrial materials, equipment, and tooling.
- Computerized maintenance management software experience.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Technical training is a plus.
