POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Graduate Engineer II - H&H at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for supporting Land Development projects by assisting with multiple hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) studies, performing calculations, and preparing analyses and FEMA documentation.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
  • Assist in managing multiple H&H studies in support of Land Development Projects
  • Aid the PM in reviewing project requirements to determine and prepare models for the analysis
  • Performs hydraulic calculations and provides direction to technical support or drafting personnel's
  • Assignments require the investigation of multiple variables with supervisory assistance.
  • Determines additional information that is needed from internal clients and coordinates with them through the H&H PM to obtain the needed data.
  • Makes basic decisions regarding alternative procedures when information is not given.
  • Communicate effectively with all H&H Land personnel involved with the project
  • Assist in the preparation of drainage impact analyses, and FEMA Letters of Map Change requests

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required
  • Certified Engineer-in-Training is recommended

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design, FEMA Letters of Map Change, and conveyance analysis
  • Working Knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM, and GIS
  • Experience in advanced H&H modeling, such as HEC-RAS Unsteady and/or 2D modeling is a plus
  • Experience in technical report writing
