POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Sr. Director, Customer Solutions the Sr. Technical Trainer is responsible for designing, developing and delivering high-impact training programs that strengthen the technical knowledge and capabilities of internal associates and external customers. The Sr. Technical Trainer will play a key role in building a scalable learning and knowledge management capability across SOLVE. The ideal candidate brings deep instructional design experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product management, sales, and marketing teams. The Sr. Technical Trainer will lean into their strong communication skills, translating technical information and training content while making it palatable to a diverse audience. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to document best practices, SOPs, process maps, and knowledge articles, while subsequently standardizing business processes and translating them into scalable learning solutions. Operating with a continuous improvement and "ever-curious" mindset, the Sr. Technical Trainer will stay on top of evolving training and industry trends to ensure Solve and its customers are fully equipped with all applicable product and platform/software trainings to continue to drive growth and innovation as a leader in our industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging technical training programs, workshops, and learning experiences that strengthen technical expertise, consultative selling capabilities and customer solution development for associates, distributors and customers using instructor-led, virtual, and digital learning methods
  • Lead the implementation, administration and continuous improvement of the Learning Management System (LMS), including curriculum management, learner tracking and reporting
  • Develop and manage a centralized knowledge management system that provides easy access to product, process, system and operational knowledge
  • Conduct training needs assessments and develop role-based learning paths that build technical proficiency and support business priorities
  • Establish and monitor training effectiveness through defined success metrics, knowledge assessments, learner feedback and performance reporting to drive continuous improvement
  • Support organizational change initiatives by developing training, communication, and adoption plans for new processes, systems, technologies and strategic initiatives
  • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled learning technologies and content development tools to improve training quality, speed, consistency and learner engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Education or a related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical training, instructional design or technical education for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate industrial products, applications and customer solutions
  • Proficient with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles
  • Experience with LMS platforms, Knowledge Management platforms and digital learning tools
  • Experience creating SOPs, process maps, workflow documentation and knowledge articles
  • Experience with ERP Systems (Epicor P21 preferred)
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Spiro or similar)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Up to 25% travel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience having trained on product within the bearings, power transmission or drive train space
  • Certifications in training or instructional design (ATD, CPTD, APTD, etc)
  • Experience with AI-assisted content development tools
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, or Camtasia
