TECHNICAL TRAINING SPECIALIST

A BOUT THE ROLE

As part of the America’s team, SANY is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Training Specialist to join our Training team. The Technical Training Specialist will play a key role in the development of SANY America’s growth plan. The incumbent’s primary responsibility will be for the design, development, and presentation of technical training programs on SANY’s products. The training focus will be for dealers, and SANY personnel. They will work cooperatively with SANY America’s divisional staff, SANY China, and other Regional Headquarters to develop and deliver the training programs. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing advanced technical service support assistance in the areas of troubleshooting and diagnosing service-related issues for SANY products.

With current revenues over $500 million,SANY America continues to make strong progress and significant investments in the Americas market; the organization is now pursuing an aggressive growth strategy and is looking to move quickly beyond thisinitialplatform and increase their market share.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will work directly with the Product Managers at SANY America to ensure an effective training program is executed. This will require:

  • Developing and presenting technical training programs on SANY products for distributors, dealers, OEM’s, and SANY personnel including product overviews, diagnostics and procedures.
  • Developing support materials and manuals for distribution at training classes.
  • Working cooperatively with the SANY divisions, and other Regional Headquarters to develop training and support material products.
  • Supporting dealer trainers and dealer training programs.
  • Traveling to dealers to provide onsite, or regional technical training for dealer personnel.
  • Assisting with developing and managing the training budget for this area.
  • Training the Customer Support Group for improved dealer and customer technical support.
  • Communicating quality issues on SANY products to the responsible SANY department/manufacturing plant or supplier.
  • Assisting with the production and distribution of training bulletins.
  • Providing technical support at trade shows, and other customer-facing events to answer technical/user questions and to assist in resolving customer issues correctly and efficiently.
  • Submitting expense reports and updating travel itineraries on a timely basis (weekly).
  • Preparing and presenting reports for monthly department meetings.
  • Familiarity with diesel engine design, repair and maintenance processes, and electronic controls.
  • Experience with adult education techniques and best practices.
  • Ability to perform and analyze skills and needs analyses.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Ability to handle stress and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting. Required to sit, stand, walk, and reach.
  • Occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 pounds in an office, customer site, or similar setting.
  • Ability to understand the worksite surroundings to ensure safety of self and others.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFIC ATION S

The Technical Training Specialist needs to be an individual with a track-record of product training and development of machine specific training courses; gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirement, defining the product vision and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products. This individual will need relevant experience in heavy equipment along with working with sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer goals are achieved along with ensuring the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals. He/she will bring new vision, energy, and creativity to the organization with a natural ability to engage people at all levels externally and internally.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in training design, development, and evaluation.
  • Adult education/instructional experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and familiar with CAD software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and passport.

EDUCATION

Associates degree in related field and/or equivalent practical experience of 5+ years

TRAVEL

While based in the United States, job duties require frequent interaction with dealer technicians and training teams. Initial activities will focus on dealer technicians in the United States requiring 30% travel.
