Government Training Engineering Innovation & Workforce Leader

Boeing Global Services (BGS) Government Training Engineering (GTE) Team is seeking a mission-driven First-Line Manager to lead the Innovation & Workforce Team. This role will combine people leadership with hands-on strategy execution - owning technology roadmap refinement, investment prioritization, and workforce planning to ensure GTE has the right skills, capacity, and talent pipeline to deliver nextgeneration Government Training systems and capabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the Innovation & Workforce Team: hire, coach, set objectives, run performance reviews, and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Own workforce planning for the GTE organization: assess current and future capability needs, define role profiles, plan hiring and upskilling, and align resource allocation to roadmap priorities.
  • Lead refinements of technology roadmaps by partnering with engineering subject-matter experts and program stakeholders.
  • Lead investment planning and prioritization across the organization to ensure alignment of people, funding, and technology efforts with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate on product licensing and intellectual property strategies to enable partnerships and maximize value.
  • Provide structure and thought leadership in ambiguous, complex environments - translate strategy into actionable plans and rapidly incorporate lessons learned.
  • Create value with pragmatic, novel solutions that may challenge the status quo while ensuring operational feasibility.
  • Represent the Innovation & Workforce Team across the organization and with external partners as needed to build alignment and partnership opportunities.
  • Strong communication, organization, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skills.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • Experience performing business strategy and/or defense analysis and/or aviation technology or related work
  • Experience with workforce planning, management, and hiring practices
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, project management, engineering, and/or training services

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience in the execution environment within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and/or the Defense industry
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and global defense market trends relevant to training, simulation, and mission rehearsal
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing teams and leading through influence across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Familiarity with product licensing, IP strategy, or commercial partnerships
  • Active Secret Clearance

100% onsite:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Hazelwood, MO)
