Job description

Spa Director

Rock Barn Country Club & Spa | Conover, North Carolina

Rock Barn Country Club & Spa is seeking an experienced Spa Director to lead the operations, team, and continued growth of our full-service Spa. Located within a private country club, the Spa serves both club members and the general public and offers a comprehensive range of spa and wellness services.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced spa professional who understands both the guest experience and the business of operating a successful spa.

What You'll Lead

The Spa Director has overall responsibility for Spa operations and financial performance, including:

  • Leading, developing, and holding accountable a diverse team of spa professionals
  • Managing staffing and scheduling based on business demand and service utilization
  • Overseeing the Spa's operating budget, payroll, revenue, expenses, and profitability
  • Analyzing financial and operational results and implementing strategies to improve performance
  • Driving service revenue, retail sales, promotions, and repeat business
  • Maintaining an exceptional experience for members and public guests
  • Managing inventory, vendors, purchasing, equipment, and facility needs
  • Monitoring appointment availability and maximizing treatment-room and provider utilization
  • Ensuring service protocols, sanitation, safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements are consistently maintained
  • Collaborating with Marketing and other Club departments on promotions, events, and business-development opportunities

What We're Looking For

Direct spa management experience is required for this position.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 3โ€“5 years of progressive management experience within a spa, resort spa, hotel spa, wellness facility, or comparable full-service spa operation
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing spa professionals
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, payroll/labor management, revenue performance, and profitability
  • Strong understanding of spa scheduling, service utilization, retail operations, inventory management, and guest-service standards
  • Demonstrated ability to address employee performance issues and build an accountable, team-oriented culture
  • Strong business judgment, organizational skills, and communication abilities
  • Experience with spa management, scheduling, and point-of-sale systems
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other hours as business needs require

A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.

The Leader We're Looking For

We're looking for more than someone who can maintain the daily schedule. Our next Spa Director should understand why the numbers look the way they do, recognize opportunities to improve the business, develop employees, solve problems before they become larger issues, and maintain an exceptional experience for every member and guest.

The successful candidate will be a visible, engaged leader who is equally comfortable reviewing financial performance, coaching an employee, resolving a guest concern, evaluating service utilization, and identifying opportunities for growth.

Rock Barn Country Club & Spa is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
