Job Title:Wellness Manager

About SH19 SH19 is an extension of The Stovall House, offering a premier racquet sports and wellness experience for members. With pickleball and padel courts, recovery amenities, and a growing fitness offering, SH19 is designed to be a dynamic, community-driven environment centered around performance, connection, and lifestyle. As we expand to include a curated fitness and recovery experience featuring strength equipment & training, sauna, and cold plunges, we are seeking a leader to shape and elevate our wellness programming.

Position Overview The Wellness Manager will oversee the development, launch, and day-to-day operations of SH19s fitness and wellness offerings, including group classes, open gym access, recovery sessions, and personal training. This individual will be responsible for building a best-in-class program that complements our racquet sports culture and delivers an exceptional member experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational experience, a passion for fitness and wellness, and a proven ability to manage teams, grow programming, and foster an engaged community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the launch and ongoing management of SH19s fitness and wellness program
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of personal trainers and instructors
  • Oversee a diverse schedule of group fitness classes aligned with member interests
  • Manage daily gym operations, ensuring a seamless, high-quality member experience
  • Lead a personal training program, including building client book, pricing, and performance standards
  • Oversee recovery amenities (cold plunges, sauna, etc.) into the broader wellness experience
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to align wellness programming with overall SH19 strategy and events
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, safety, and equipment upkeep
  • Track performance metrics including participation, revenue, and member engagement
  • Actively engage with members to build relationships, gather feedback, and drive retention
  • Partner with PG/PE Manager to promote wellness offerings, events, and new programming

Qualifications & Skills

  • 35 years of experience managing a fitness facility, gym, or wellness program
  • Proven experience leading and developing trainers and instructors
  • Strong understanding of fitness programming, personal training models, and member engagement strategies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong operational and problem-solving abilities
  • Energetic, professional, and service-oriented with a passion for wellness and community building
  • Certification in personal training or related field preferred (NASM, ACE, NSCA, etc.)
  • CPR/AED certification required (or ability to obtain)
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to be visibly present and mobile throughout the wellness and fitness spaces for extended periods, including standing, walking, and light movement during classes, training sessions, and member engagement
  • Ability to demonstrate or assist with basic fitness movements and exercises as needed to support staff and member experience
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull fitness and recovery equipment (such as weights, mats, benches, or portable accessories), generally up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, and kneel in order to set up equipment, maintain cleanliness standards, and assist members
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including indoor fitness spaces and outdoor or semioutdoor areas, which may involve heat, humidity, or fluctuating temperatures
  • Ability to safely operate fitness and recovery equipment in compliance with safety protocols
