Web design and digital marketing company with customers in a wide range of industries from healthcare and yoga to satellite communications seeks a Wordpress expert with SEO experience.
Qubit is seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is required. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
This is a long-term, full-time position. Support, regular communication, opportunities for professional growth as well as time and compensation for training, will be provided. Your feedback, creativity, and suggestions are considered important parts of the job.

About This Role
Qubit has provided an all-in-one suite of business tools using the Adobe Business Catalyst Content Management System (CMS). Adobe announced they will discontinue the Business Catalyst CMS in April 2021 and Qubit is now working to develop an alternativesolution for their clients.
The focus of this role is to develop, build and manage Wordpress websites that integrate and simplify business processes for our customers following best practices for search engine optimization and website accessibility. You will help develop one, integrated platform for web hosting, content management, lead generation, email marketing, customer relationship database, e-commerce and more.
You will collaborate and work closely with leadership to build, maintain and troubleshoot websites that meet or exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new features and functionality
  • Establish and guide the website's architecture
  • Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS

Skills and Qualifications
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive websites
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
