Position Overview:
We are looking for a strong and passionate leader who can balance vision, strategy, operations, and engineering acumen with the needs of a rapidly growing company
Responsibilities
This role requires a hands-on visionary to help us change the world of broadband access. The VP for Network Design & Implementation will:
  • Lead Fiber Network Design and Implementation efforts as JSI works with Tier 3 providers in rural areas to provide broadband and opportunity to all.
  • Share our vision to bridge the digital divide.
  • Drive JSI's mission: leverage our expertise to empower communications providers to grow profitably and deliver world-class service.
  • Help our clients capitalize on the unprecedented funding available from various sources, including the June 2023 Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program, the largest-ever government broadband funding.
  • Guide the Alaska division of 20+ people - and growing.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Strategic Vision: Develop, implement and execute a strategic business plan for this region.
  • Leadership: Provide direction for the development, design, installation and inspection of Tier 3 projects to ensure high quality.
  • Operations: Oversee the execution of outside plant projects across the division.
  • Business Development: In partnership with the sales team, leverage relationships and industry associations drive new business.
  • Communication: Collaborate and engage at all levels to help achieve our company vision, strategy and goals.
  • Interact: Work across the JSI enterprise and build strong relationships with sales, internal teams, and customers.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and programs.
  • Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, technologies and market conditions relevant to the division and industry.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably Master's Degree and or equivalent experience required.
  • 15+ years of experience within the telecom industry.
  • Have an OSP background while also being strategic and highly operational.
  • Experience with both white- and blue-collar workforce preferred.
  • Proven track record of success leading business transformations by leveraging innovative solutions and delivering results.
  • Thorough knowledge of compliance requirements and government regulations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High levels of personal integrity and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed, driven and highly motivated.
  • Possess financial acumen to link operations to performance.
