SVP, Retail Banking JOB SUMMARY:
The SVP, Retail Banking is responsible for leading the overall performance and environment of retail banking branches. This position leads and directs the branch teams in achieving outlined goals and in establishing the foundation necessary for branch success. Also, leads and directs branch teams in achieving profitability, sales, customer experience, compliance, and growth objectives.
SVP, Retail Banking ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):
* Conducts regular updates and strategy meetings with direct reports and leadership teams.
* Must assigns and manages teams across multiple locations, markets, regions, and/or states.
* Provides senior level guidance and support to branches regarding customer concerns, operations questions, risk management, and human resources issues.
* Proactively recommends and sponsors process improvements.
* Manages, develops, and leads branch management teams; approves incentives, expense reports, and other personnel and compensation matters.
* Drives branch sales and performance and provides strategic direction focused on the continued growth and development of assigned branches within the market.
* Tracks and reviews daily market performance levels; compiles summary reports and communicates standings, develops and directs an action plan for improvement areas.
* Conducts frequent branch visits to ensure adherence to bank policies, consistency in sales and marketing efforts, successful implementation of new products and services, and to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with branch employees.
* Promotes community development and serves in the communities serviced by the branches.
* Provides sound operational controls, increases efficiency, and maintains compliance and audit standards across the regions and markets, while managing risk within retail banking.
* Participates in the branch hiring, promotion, and review process while managing, mentoring, and improving support staff performance. Caches and develops retail banking teams to ensure we are meeting the needs of the company.
* Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.
* Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
SVP, Retail Banking REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Extensive knowledge of retail branch banking policies, procedures, regulations, internal control audits, and best practices.
* Extensive knowledge of marketing, sales, financial, managerial and leadership principles with broad knowledge of banking operation practices, policies, products and applicable regulations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage workload to meet deadlines and goals, including driving timely execution by others.
* Ability to analyze trends and processes, develop practical solutions, and support continuous performance improvement.
* Ability to foster a positive, engaged work environment aligned with organizational direction and priorities.
* Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, including executive management.

Equivalent Education/Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent years of experience.

SVP, Retail Banking SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:
This position requires travel to various branch locations. Flexibility to engage in overnight and regional travel up to 50% of the time initially and then followed by 30%.
