Job description

Position: VP of Distribution Partnership Network
Department: Annuity Marketing
Reporting to: President of Insurance
Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite
Overview:
Advisors Excel is expanding its annuity distribution strategy with the launch of a new Broker Dealer and Insurance Agency channel focused on growth.
This is a rare opportunity to build a new program inside one of the most established and high-performing organizations in the industry. The Vice President of Distribution Partnership Network will lead the creation and growth of this channel, developing new partnerships, expanding advisor access, and driving meaningful annuity premium and revenue growth. In this role, you will be responsible for building the strategy and presence of Advisors Excel within the Broker Dealer and Insurance Agency space-helping these organizations and advisors understand the value of partnering with AE and creating pathways for long-term growth together.
This is both a market-facing and internal leadership role. You will be actively engaging with firms, advisors, and strategic partners while also building the structure, processes, and alignment needed to scale the channel inside the organization. As the opportunity grows, you will build and lead a team to support continued expansion. Success in this role requires someone who can open doors in the market, clearly articulate value to external partners, and then translate those relationships into a scalable, high-performing distribution channel.
What you'll do:
  • Build and grow annuity distribution within Broker Dealer and Insurance Agency channels
  • Define and execute the strategy for this emerging distribution channel in alignment with enterprise goals
  • Identify and develop relationships with target firms, advisors, and strategic partners
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Broker Dealer and Insurance Agency distribution, products, and advisor business models
  • Build scalable processes, tools, and playbooks that drive advisor adoption and production
  • Partner across Annuity, Life, Medicare, AEWM, Operations, and Events to support advisor success and remove barriers to growth
  • Work closely with President of Insurance to align strategy, execution, and market opportunities across the organization
  • Build and maintain key external relationships with Broker Dealers, Insurance Agencies, and strategic partners
  • Translate needs and market feedback into actionable business strategy
  • Build and develop a high-performing team to support channel growth
  • Monitor performance, analyze results, and adjust strategy to drive revenue and premium growth

Experience you'll bring:
  • 5-10+ years of experience in sales, distribution, or business development within insurance, financial services, or a related industry
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through new or expanded distribution channels
  • Experience building and leading high-performing sales teams or distribution organizations
  • Strong understanding of Broker/Dealer and Insurance Agency distribution, including advisor business models and product positioning
  • Experience building relationships with external partners such as Broker/Dealers, Insurance Agencies, or independent advisors
  • Ability to build structure from ambiguity, including developing scalable processes, tools, and go-to-market approaches
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into action
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, both internally and externally

Bonus Points:
  • Experience launching or scaling new distribution channels, teams, or business lines
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, IMO/FMO relationships, or wholesaling organizations
  • Experience driving advisor adoption or changing advisor behavior through education, positioning, or strategy
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

Location and Travel:
  • This role is based onsite as part of our work-from-work culture, where collaboration and connection are central to how we operate. This position is expected to be based in Kansas, with relocation required within 6-12 months.
  • Regular travel, including overnight stays, is required, with approximately 50-75 nights of travel expected annually.

What you'll get:
  • Amazing benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401k (with matching options)
  • Generous PTO package from your start date
