Job description

Purpose: The IT Manager is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Credit Union's technology environment to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable operations. This position serves as a primary resource for technical support, technology administration, vendor coordination, infrastructure management, and operational continuity. The role works closely with employees, technology partners, and leadership to provide solutions that support organizational goals, regulatory requirements, employee productivity, and member service excellence. 
Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Support and maintain the Credit Union's technology infrastructure to ensure systems remain secure, stable, and operational.
  2. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to employees, Board members, and Supervisory Committee members in a professional and timely manner.
  3. Serve as a primary point of contact for technology-related issues and coordinate resolution efforts with internal and external resources.
  4. Monitor technology systems and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, security, and reliability.
  5. Coordinate and maintain relationships with technology vendors, managed service providers, software providers, telecommunications partners, and other third-party technology resources.
  6. Assist with planning, implementation, testing, and deployment of new technologies, upgrades, and system enhancements.
  7. Support the administration and maintenance of user accounts, system permissions, authentication methods, and access controls.
  8. Maintain technology inventory records, equipment lifecycle management, licensing records, and system documentation.
  9. Support and administer workstation, laptop, mobile device, server, and peripheral device operations throughout the organization.
  10. Assist in maintaining network connectivity, communication systems, and technology infrastructure supporting branch and corporate operations.
  11. Monitor technology alerts, investigate issues, and escalate incidents as appropriate to ensure timely resolution and risk mitigation.
  12. Assist in maintaining cybersecurity controls and technology safeguards designed to protect organizational systems, data, and member information.
  13. Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency initiatives by participating in testing, documentation, and recovery activities.
  14. Coordinate with internal departments to identify technology needs and recommend solutions that improve operational effectiveness and member service.
  15. Assist with the implementation and administration of technology policies, procedures, and standards.
  16. Maintain knowledge of evolving technology trends, cybersecurity risks, and industry best practices relevant to the Credit Union.
  17. Contribute recommendations regarding technology purchases, system improvements, and infrastructure investments.
  18. Assist leadership in gathering information and planning for technology-related operational and capital expenditures.
  19. Support system integrations and technology resources utilized by the Credit Union to ensure reliable employee and member access.
  20. Participate in technology projects and strategic initiatives designed to improve organizational effectiveness and service delivery.
  21. Deliver training, guidance, and support to employees on technology resources, security awareness, and technology best practices.
  22. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive member, employee, and organizational information.
  23. Provide leadership by exemplifying WRCU's Core Values, Vision, and Mission.
  24. Participate in community and volunteer involvement activities.
  25. Maintain an organized, safe, and professional work environment.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of information technology experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting end-user technology, business systems, networks, or infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience within a financial institution, credit union, or highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party technology vendors and service providers preferred.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, infrastructure, and technology operations preferred.

Education required:           
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience may be considered.
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and fingers throughout the workday.
  • The position requires frequent use of computers, telephones, and other office technology.
  • The employee may occasionally lift, move, or transport technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel between locations, training events, or vendor meetings may be required.
  • Occasional evenings or extended work hours may be required to support technology projects or operational needs.
Work Environment:
  • The work environment consists primarily of a professional office setting with moderate noise levels associated with employee interactions, office equipment, and technology systems.
