Summary:
We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Training Coordinator to join the Cosm venue team located in downtown Detroit. The position plays a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of training sessions for both management and hourly team members at the venue. This includes new hire orientation and ongoing development programs. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of experience in learning and development and a passion for creating engaging, effective training experiences. This position reports to the Director of Learning and Development.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and delivering regular training sessions at the venue, including New Hire Orientation and train-the-trainer classes.

  • Work closely with the venue management team to ensure that all training requirements are met, and new hire training is executed consistently.

  • Coordinate with various departments, use provided training resources, and partner with management to resolve issues as they arise.

  • Apply foundational learning theories to enhance training design, delivery, and facilitation.

  • Use instructional design models and processes to develop and update training materials, including handouts, presentations, and other instructional resources.

  • Deliver training sessions to ensure a high-quality learning experience.

  • Complete tasks related to training, including scheduling, tracking attendance, and maintaining training records using the Learning Management System.

  • Monitor and follow up on compliance training to meet state and federal requirements.

  • Contribute to venue culture initiatives by supporting recognition initiatives to celebrate team members and venue team achievements.

  • Provide support for team member onboarding activities, including assisting with new hire paperwork and ensuring a welcoming experience for new hires.

  • Become proficient to answer HR related questions and participate on team projects.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in training in design, development, and delivery required.

  • Previous experience in food & beverage, hospitality, or venue operations preferred.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Articulate 360.

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

  • Experience as a training facilitator with a track record of impactful and effective program delivery.

  • Strong attention to detail and advanced preparation. Excellent organizational skills are a must.

  • Ability to handle several projects at one time, both individually and through cross-functional teams.

  • Effective collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
