Job Title: Sports Staff

Reports to: Sports Director

Status: Part-time (up to 15 hours per week)

Compensation: $13.73 per hour & FREE YMCA Membership

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Sports Staff is responsible for assisting the Sports Director in organizing and facilitating sports leagues and clinics.

JOB DETAILS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the Sports Director in the organization, promotion, and coordination of sports leagues, practices, and clinics
  • Oversee scheduled games and assist with any operational needs
  • Maintain strong communication with staff, parents, volunteers, coaches, and referees
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all Y members, guests, and community partners
  • Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Promote YMCA policies and procedures to employees, volunteers, members, and prospective members
  • Promote the mission and core values of the YMCA on a daily basis
  • Help to maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility
  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-motivated and energetic with the ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Background in multiple sports preferred
  • Red Cross CPR/AED certification required
