Position Summary: The Youth GED Program Coordinator (Temporary)for individuals with disadvantages and barriers to employment with a strong emphasis in case management for successful completion of GED, and other industry sector skill development. Goodwill's Milgard Work Opportunity Center provides case management, training and support to youth (16 - 24 years of age) and adults. Job readiness and work experience are a pivotal part of our programming. Our participants rely heavily on good relationships with community employers, both public and private. We strive to offering training that meets the needs of the local labor market, providing feedback, individuals employment planning and access to industry recognized skills. The individuals we serve often present with multiple barriers to employment. Our programs strive to prepare and assist individuals with disadvantages for educational attainment and for jobs that lead towards career development.
Hourly Rate: $24.11 - $26.20 per hour
*This is a part-time, temporary position expected to continue through July 17th
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Youth GED Program Coordinator (Temporary) responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:
- Deliver and maintain case management and student support services designed to meet the requirements for GED attainment for Goodwill students
- Manage compliance with OSPI "Open Doors" regulations and relationships with contracting school districts in regards to case management, supportive service, enrollment of students
- Using recognized best practices, per district expectations to engage youth and retain engagement in the program
- Collaborate with workforce development staff, vocational school staff, program staff to promote student success
- Adhere to program requirements for daily attendance and data tracking and reporting
- Adhere to program requirements for monthly attendance and data tracking and reporting for monthly reporting to workforce development and school districts.
- Adhere to program requirements for the purchasing, tracking, reconciliation, and issuing of student test vouchers for GED pre-tests and tests.
- Adhere to program requirements for the purchasing and tracking of purchases, and reconciliation of purchases for program needs.
- Interact in a positive manner with program staff, school district administrators, intervention specialists, truancy, juvenile justice and students
- Attend all meetings and trainings as required by supervisor
- Assist in educational and service placements
