Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking an IT Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for all IT-related matters
  • Coordinate with outsourced IT help desk to ensure timely resolution of tickets and service requests
  • Provide hands-on support for escalated technical issues (hardware, software, connectivity)
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding processes, including user provisioning, device setup, and access controls
  • Maintain IT documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee firm infrastructure including laptops, mobile devices, conferencing systems, and office network
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices appropriate for a financial institution
  • Manage endpoint protection, email security, and data loss prevention tools
  • Oversee user access controls and periodic access reviews
  • Assist with compliance-related IT requirements (e.g., SEC, SOC 2 readiness, investor diligence requests)
  • Coordinate incident response and remediation efforts
  • Act as liaison between the firm and outsourced IT provider, ensuring service levels are met
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors (hardware, software, telecom, security)
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and security
  • Lead or assist with IT-related projects (system upgrades, migrations, office expansions, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve user experience
  • Support implementation and maintenance of financial software systems (e.g., CRM, portfolio monitoring tools)
  • Monitor system performance, uptime, and reliability in coordination with vendors

Administer core systems such as:
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • VPN and remote access tools
  • Identity and access management (e.g., Active Directory/Azure AD)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5-10 years of IT experience, preferably within financial services (private equity, hedge fund, investment banking, or asset management)
  • Experience working with outsourced or managed IT service providers
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
  • Experience with networking fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support senior professionals in a high-expectation environment
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day support
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive firm and investor data

Preferred Experience:
  • Exposure to compliance or regulatory environments (e.g., SEC-registered advisors)
  • Experience supporting financial applications (e.g., Backstop, iLevel, or similar)
  • Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

Multi-Office Support & Travel:
  • Provide on-site IT support across the firm's offices in New York City, Santa Monica, and Palm Beach
  • Travel periodically (estimated ~20-30%) to support office setups, troubleshoot issues, and maintain
infrastructure consistency
  • Ensure standardized systems, security protocols, and user experience across all locations
  • Assist with new office buildouts, relocations, and technology deployments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
