Job description

The IT Director is a senior leader who reports to the Vice President of Security & IT responsible for overseeing the organization's information technology strategy, infrastructure, operations, and teams. Primarily focused on service delivery for internal customers, the IT Director leads client services, systems administration and network infrastructure efforts and works closely with corporate security, enterprise business systems and cybersecurity teams. This individual ensures that technology investments align with business goals and that IT services are delivered securely, efficiently, and reliably.
Strategic Leadership
  • Assist the Vice President of Security & IT in the development and execution of IT strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
  • Advise on technology trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization
  • Support development and production teams in finding and supporting process and efficiency improvements

Infrastructure & Operations
  • Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud environments, and end-user systems
  • Implement cybersecurity requirements mandated by the Cybersecurity Manager
  • Support ERP solutions maintained by the Enterprise Business Systems Manager
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of all IT systems
  • Manage IT service delivery and support functions

Security & Compliance
  • Support enforcement of cybersecurity policies and regulatory requirements, frameworks, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., CMMC, NIST SP800-171, SP800-53, FIPS140-3, FIPS199/200, NISPOM, ISO9001, ISO 27001)
  • Assist in risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Support in audit and compliance efforts

Team Management
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team
  • Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and support professional development
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture

Vendor & Budget Management
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs
  • Develop and oversee the annual IT budget
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality or security

Project Management
  • Lead and prioritize IT projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Implement and maintain project management frameworks and governance

Required Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required)
  • Master's degree or MBA (preferred)
  • Or equivalent years of directly applicable experience

Experience
  • 8-12+ years of progressive IT experience
  • 3-5+ years in a senior IT leadership or management role
  • Proven track record of managing enterprise-scale IT environments, particularly in defense industrial base businesses
  • US Citizenship required with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Technical Skills
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (M365, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • AI enablement and support
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, networking, and cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL), and DevOps practices
