Purpose of Position:

The IT Manager is responsible for the overall management, support, and strategic direction of the organization’s information technology systems. This role provides both hands-on technical support and leadership in maintaining, optimizing, and securing all IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, and end-user systems. The IT Manager ensures reliable operations, drives continuous improvement, and aligns technology solutions with business objectives.


Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation)

IT Operations & Support

  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade operating systems, software, and hardware systems.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, network infrastructure, telecommunication systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, hardware, and software issues; perform repairs or coordinate resolution with vendors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues, delivering timely help desk support across the organization.
  • Perform physical installation of IT equipment, including computers, network devices, cabling, and peripherals.

Systems & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee and maintain on-premises infrastructure, including servers, SAN/NAS storage, network systems, VPN, Wi-Fi, and LAN.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and availability; implement improvements as needed.
  • Maintain and manage IT assets, including licenses, warranties, service agreements, and inventory records.
  • Support and contribute to month-end system processes and reporting, including inventory-related systems.

Strategy & Leadership

  • Plan, design, and implement IT systems and infrastructure improvements aligned with business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions based on cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Lead IT-related projects, including upgrades, implementations, and system migrations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides direction, training, and ongoing development to employees to ensure performance expectations are met and company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Address and resolves employee concerns and conflicts in a timely and professional manner, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Reviews, approves, and manages employee time, attendance, and labor reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and maintains accurate documentation of employee performance, providing constructive feedback and development plans as needed.
  • Coaches, counsels, and holds employees accountable for performance, conduct, and adherence to organizational policies and expectations.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and external consultants.
  • Coordinate outsourced services and ensure service levels are met.
  • Collaborate with leadership and departments to identify technology needs and deliver effective solutions.

Training & Compliance

  • Train and support employees on systems, applications, and IT best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (including ITAR/EAR).
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Works when scheduled and adheres to company attendance policy.
  • Observes and follows all safety procedures and personal protective equipment policies (e.g., safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields).

Other:

  • Works outside normal business hours, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to walk regularly throughout office and production environments.
  • Must be able to see within the normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours, as needed.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while using hands, fingers, and wrists repetitively.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach overhead, squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs as needed, and perform equipment installations.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience, including system administration, infrastructure support, and technical troubleshooting required.
  • Experience in IT leadership, project management, or supervisory responsibilities strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of level 2 CMMC systems and compliance required.
  • Experience with network administration and infrastructure (Cisco or similar certifications a plus) required.
  • Experience managing on-premises servers, SAN, and NAS environments required.
  • Proven experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments required.
  • Strong background in hardware installation, maintenance, and system upgrades required.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must be able to verify U.S. citizenship or permanent residency in compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations.


Work Conditions:

Primarily office-based with regular exposure to manufacturing/production floor environments, including moving machinery, moderate noise, and occasional fumes and loud noise while on production floor.
