Job description

A Surgical Scheduler coordinates and manages surgical procedures, ensuring accurate scheduling, patient preparation, and communication among healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surgery Coordination: Schedule surgeries and related procedures, optimizing operating room and surgeon availability while accommodating patient needs and urgent cases.
  • Patient Communication: Provide detailed pre-operative instructions, confirm appointments, and address patient inquiries to ensure understanding and compliance. 
  • Medical Documentation: Gather and verify patient information, including medical history, insurance coverage, consent forms, and pre-operative clearances. 
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and communicate financial responsibilities to patients. 
  • Interdepartmental Liaison: Coordinate with surgeons, facilities, physician asisstant, medical assistant and other to ensure resources and personnel are available.
