Surgical scheduler Schedule a patient's surgery Finalized prior to surgery date Provide information and updates in regards to patient surgery schedules Prepare the patient for surgery Scheduling patient surgical procedures and maintaining the surgery schedule Prepare surgery charts including diagnostic studies Coordinate physician's surgery schedule/li Communicate surgery schedules to patients and physician offices Obtain authorizations for surgery and radiology testing ordered by the physician for surgery Sending pre-op packets to patients with surgery instructions Obtain pre-authorization for surgery from insurance carriers Delivering patient consent for surgery to the surgical department Contacting hospital or surgery center to make reservations for patient's surgery based on physicians specifications Maintain patient confidentiality at all times Obtain all necessary consents prior to surgery Verify insurance and send to surgery information to billing Maintain records and prepare reports related to surgery schedule Coordinating and scheduling patient surgery appointments for all physicians at the clinic site Derive medical history and previous surgery information Obtain surgery medical clearances and enter information into patient chart
